Great vid. Superb drama. Idiotic people. Don't feel sorry for them one bit. Sick narcissistic mountaineers. Sad really.

Omg....Honestly I wanna die like that, just fall asleep on the highest mountain on earth and just never wake up again, and become a part of the mountain...

Most of the real climbing is left to the Sherpas they go up and sort all the routes out I know it’s a massive achievement to reach the peak but isn’t mountain climbing supposed to be about overcoming the obstacles in your way the Sherpas are the real heroes. It’s becoming a white collar sport for the privileged elite.

In Anatoli's book it is reported that he and Scott had an agreement that Anatoli would go down the mountain ahead of everyone to be there to help clients that might be in trouble after possibly running out of O2.

Wow brutal , when I climbed Everest I had a picnic at the summit at 3pm and then skied down . You should have seen the twisty spread I pulled of the top of the Hillary step . Air Time my doggies !

Stop commercial climbing on Everest! Inexperienced climbers have no right to be there risking the lives of others especially sherpas. Nepal should be encouraged to support tourism of the mountainous region that is sustainable and respectful, cultural and scenic not dangerous to amateurs who have no business being there. I will not disrespect the dead but commercial ventures are about money. I’m looking at you Sandy Pitman. People died so you could have a “life experience” and commercial exposure, you should own that and not be a coward by not answering publicly for it. Your actions cost the live of good and decent people.

Why did Scott continue to the summit when his entire team was descending? A true leader would have turned back with them, and LED his damn team.

I feel like that is very self centred, and unprofessional. As a leader, he should have stayed with his group.

So sad ,about Bukreev...

Idiots

I find mountaineers, not all of them, but in this case, to be very deluded and selfish people.

The greed and publicity these men wanted killed them. It's apparent

A glaring omission of The Sandy Pittman Factor. Yes, she contributed to this mess too.

The guides did absolutely everything they could to help their clients....the only thing to blame...was the weather. The decisions to summit after the agreed to and suggested time of 1 PM were made by very insistent clients.

Maybe in the year 10,018 we can have our first black person reach the top of Everest.

The Sherpas depend on the money for climbing. By you guys using guides from foreign regions only hurts the Sherpas. God bless the folks involved in this tragedy.

Anatoly didn't have oxygen as he climbed without it. He was still a hero in my minds eye.

What an amazing video. Respect to anyone who attempts this incredible feat.

These people act as if they just have to get to the top of this stupid mountain. It's so not important, and not worth your life. No one cares if you climb a mountain. It should be against the law to do this.

29.18 " fixed ropes are necessarily ..." and who fix the ropes ? All the narrations about climbing Everest are sound so heroic and adventures , but who fix the ropes, who carries the heavy loads , etc.? Even if I had the crazy money to pay to climb Mt.Everest I never go. I better climb the mountain I can climb myself. Even if it's not as significant and "famous " as Everest.

Anatoli died in an avalanche in another mountain the sherpa that hauled Pitman up and then couldn't fix roaps also died in an avalance at age 25. that's what happens when u play Russian roulette every year. these people are wired different to risk everything to stand on a little piece of real estate. the brain damage there doing even if they survive is irreversible. year in year out takes a toll on membrane.

Too many people, too many planning oversights. Good people died. Tragic. The Russian guy is a hero.
