With the impending release of The Incredibles 2, we decided it was finally time to go looking for sins in the last Brad Bird Pixar film, Ratatouille. It's about a rat chef, but it's also really excellent, but also full of sins.

Thursday: Animated sins.

Remember, no movie is without sin! Which movie's sins should we expose next?!

I can't believe he sinned Ratatouille or not making the "villain more villainy", if it were the other way around he would've sinned it for a lack of antagonist nuance

11:56 to 12:00 Rather Colette's rack is missing, or Linguini just groped her in public, while breaking her fall. The secrets of sexual bondage...?

At 13:36 sin for cinema sins, you forgot to mention that those rats would of been probably steamed alive in the dishwasher, trust me I used to work in restaurants and more often then not that water gets scalding hot

im starting to think that this animated kids movie about speaking rats with a will to cook isnt as good of a portrayal of reality as they made it out to be

he's a talking rat of course the movie is unrealistic, like,,,,dude.

The overture being played during the Francophillic propaganda is the French national anthem, so it makes sense. It does appear in 1812 Overture, but it is first and foremost the French national anthem, not an overture from 1812 Overture.

4:37 Rats did not carry the Plague, they carried the Fleas which carried the plague. Just wanted to point that out.

Like my husband LOVES to point out, "RATS ARE COOKING!!! YOUR ISSUE IS THEM PUSHING A GARGOYLE?!" This whole "verisimilitude thing" began upon seeing Madagascar for the first time & me, pointing out that penguins flying during the opening sequence was far-fetched & contrived. He said, "Honey, be quiet. There is a zebra talking. It's ok if the penguins are flying, no?"

u forgot the boxers of incredible lol

Gotta correct you on 2 points
1. The movie is set in the mid to late 20th century (television is still black and white, Ego writes his reviews on a typewriter etc) so security cameras probably haven’t been invented yet.
2. There really is a shop in Paris that advertises it’s rat traps by hanging dead rats in the window, so the movie isn’t being that absurd.

12:00 is that bomb voyage in the background?

The first sin is totally wrong. It's the French National Anthem. Tchaikovsky did the classical version of sampling it for 1812.
