4: Television
The rapid development of online television has allowed people to binge watch their favorite TV shows for hours on end. However, more and more of the studies have been published to underline the negative effect of watching TV for prolonged periods of time. One of the most common examples cited is the danger of not using your brain as much. When reading a book or our minds are forced to imagine the actions performed by the character, the way the surroundings look and the sounds described by the narrative. When we watch TV most of the information is given and while there is a degree of critical thinking involved on our part little is left to the imagination. The brain needs training and exercise as much as the rest of the body does. Many people have associated feeling ‘empty’
3: Eating Excess Sugar
Sugar is mainly split into two categories -sugar that occurs naturally (from fruits and vegetables) and man-made processed sugar (table sugar). More than 80% of the food products sold on the American market today contain some form of table sugar, primarily obtained from sugarcanes or beets. Table sugar is made up of 50% fructose and 50% glucose. Sugar modifies the biochemical pathways in our brain while tampering with dopamine receptors. Dopamine is a neurotransmitter responsible for communicating signals between the brain’s neurons. Its release is associated with feeling pleasure or happiness. When we eat sugar there is a spike in dopamine levels. To get the same spike usually a larger quantity is necessary. Researchers have found sugar to be more addictive than nicotine or even cocaine. One of the best known negative effects of sugar consumption refers to the way in which it affects our teeth, causing cavities. Experts from the NICDR (National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research) explained that ‘Certain harmful oral bacteria actually feed on the sugars you eat to create acids that destroy the tooth enamel, which is the shiny, protective outer layer of the tooth. Cavities are a bacterial infection created by acids that cause your teeth to experience
2: Sitting for Extended Periods of Time
It might sound odd but when we sit down for too long our health is seriously affected. During this time, the body enters storage mode and does not work as effectively. On the molecular level, our bodies are designed for movement. Katy Bowman, author of the book ‘Move Your DNA: Restore Your Health Through Natural Movement’, explained "Actively sedentary is a new category of people who are fit for one hour but sitting around the rest of the day… You can't offset 10 hours of stillness with one hour of exercise." One of the most common negative effects of sitting is manifested physically by pain in the neck and back. When we sit down, our spine and the disks that make up our backs are compressed. This can lead to loss in flexibility and increases the risk of herniated disks
1: Sleep Deprivation
Nowadays the majority of people seem to sacrifice a good night’s rest for more time to focus on other activities. However, sleep is vital and missing too much of it can be very dangerous for our health. Sleep is as necessary for the body as breathing or eating. According to a recent medical study, it is possible to survive more time without food than without sleep. It is essential for our health and also our development. In the cases of children and teenagers, growth hormones are released during sleep. They help build muscle mass and regenerate cells and tissues. Sleep deprivation stops the brain from functioning properly, as it affects people both on a cognitive and an emotional level. Severe lack of sleep has often been associated with paranoia, depression, impulsive behavior and even suicidal thoughts. Sleep deprivation also affects the immune system. During sleep the body produces cytokines (small proteins that act as receptors and help the organism respond to infection, trauma and cancer) and other antibodies that are necessary for fending off infection. A study from the Harvard Medical School has found a direct connection between sleep deprivation and weight gain. The levels of leptin (the hormone telling the brain that food-intake has reached saturation) are reduced while ghrelin (a biochemical that increases appetite) is produced at a higher rate. Tragic incidents involving automobiles, airplanes and ships have been linked to micro sleep. Micro sleep is when you fall asleep for a few seconds or even minutes without realizing it. Concentration and coordination are also severely

About cavities. They can kill you. It will go to a certain point where the bacteria can get into your blood stream and poison you and it is pretty hard to survive once the bacteria enters you blood. Lets just say as soon as it reaches your heart you die.

If #4 is as true as it claims to be, there would be an epidemic of dead and dying people. Nearly everyone in a developed country watch television, youtube, etc for extended periods of times. Pretty sure I know more people who have died or currently have medical issues due to smoking rather than television watching.

You know, I always thought it was funny that no matter what videos you make, people don't give two shits.

EIGHTY percent of food products on sale in America contain sugar? That is crazy and really sad actually and is no doubt the same here in Britain. We are slowly killing ourselves and our kids. We know now that "fat is bad" idea in the 80's was wrong and it's actually sugar that is the biggest problem. A lot of people now are advocating more natural fats for a healthy diet.
Very interesting video.

he's exaggerating a lot but what he's saying is true a long time of setting and tv is actually bad for you setting also got some bad unhealthy cases that he didn't go to. my advice is games TV and vids have rest time games have loading screen TV got commercials and vids some of them are just audio. whenever they happen just stand up and move your body a little.

Dieting by starvation should be on here. Can lead to eating disorders. Huge problem amongst young adults in some of the developed countries. Can kill you way faster then smoking cigarettes in severe cases.
